How to Use a Foam Cleanser and a Refining Pad: The Right Order

If you have both a foam cleanser and a skincare pad on your shelf, which goes first? The answer depends on what each product does. A foam cleanser washes away daily buildup and is rinsed off. A refining pad is used after cleansing as an optional skin-care step. They are not interchangeable.

At K2GO-Cosmetics, you can choose between two foam cleansers and add the VERTTY Tea Tree Cica Refining Pad when it suits your skin. Here is a simple way to use them.

Step 1: Choose one foam cleanser

Choose one cleanser for each wash rather than using both foams together.

  • EPONA Jeju Green Tea Flower Foam Cleanser is described as a foaming cleanser with Jeju green tea flower extract and Jeju volcanic ash. Consider it if you prefer a rich lather and a fresh, comfortable finish.

  • VERTTY Tea Tree AC Care Cleansing Foam is described as containing tea tree ingredients and BHA (salicylic acid). Consider it if you prefer a cleanser aimed at oilier or blemish-prone skin. Follow the product label, especially if your skin is sensitive to exfoliating ingredients.

The names and ingredient descriptions above come from the respective product pages. A cosmetic cleanser should not be treated as a substitute for prescribed acne care.

Step 2: Lather, massage gently, and rinse

Wet your face with lukewarm water. Put a small amount of your chosen cleanser into clean hands, work up a lather, and gently massage it over your face with fingertips. Avoid your eyes and do not scrub. Rinse the foam off thoroughly with lukewarm water, then pat dry with a clean, soft towel. This is a wash-off step; you do not leave the foam on as a mask.

Step 3: Use the refining pad after cleansing, if desired

VERTTY Tea Tree Cica Refining Pad is described as a dual-textured pad soaked in an essence containing centella asiatica extract, a tea tree complex, and PHA. It is an optional exfoliating skin-care step after washing, not a replacement for a foam cleanser.

With clean hands, take one pad from the jar. Gently pass it over the face, avoiding the eye area and irritated or broken skin. Use light pressure; repeated scrubbing is unnecessary. Let the essence settle, then continue with moisturizer. Follow the frequency and any rinse-off directions on the actual package. Start cautiously if exfoliating products are new to your routine.

Step 4: Moisturize, and protect skin in the morning

After cleansing, or after the optional pad step, apply a moisturizer. If you use a toner or serum, place it between cleansing and moisturizer according to its label and how your skin responds. In the morning, finish with a broad-spectrum sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher.

Can I use the tea tree foam and refining pad together? They contain different exfoliating ingredients in their product descriptions: BHA in the foam and PHA in the pad. Some people may find that combination too much, particularly when starting out or when also using retinoids or other exfoliants. There is no need to use the pad with every cleanse. If your skin stings, becomes very dry, or stays red, pause the pad and review your routine with a qualified professional.

The easy order to remember is one foam cleanser → rinse and pat dry → optional refining pad → moisturizer → sunscreen in the morning. Let your skin’s response and the directions on each package guide how often you use the pad.

This article gives general cosmetic-use information. Individual skin responses vary. Follow the instructions on the product you receive; seek advice from a healthcare professional if irritation persists.
